Mandy Pickering
Mandy engages with graziers from across the Gulf Savannah NRM region of Queensland. Her focus is supporting land managers in the adoption of best management practices for sustainability as well as helping graziers understand the hugely variable climate in which they operate.
Knowing the climate drivers and using the tools to predict the season is an important aspect in a northern beef business. As a new Climate Mate, Mandy"s looking forward to learning then helping producers in understanding their climate patterns to assist them in making better-informed, timely decisions in their herd, land, and business management. Mandy lives at Croydon in Queenslands Gulf county with her husband and three children, where they run a breeder herd of Brahman cross cattle on their property.
